- 1559 – The Spanish expedition led by Tristán de Luna y Arellano landed, establishing the first European settlement within the continental United States.
- 1882 – The first train passengers on the Pensacola & Atlantic Railroad crossed the Pensacola Bay railroad bridge.
- 1890 – The Ladies' Monument Association was founded to plan a Confederate memorial atop Gage Hill.
- 1960 – The Pensacola Historical Society opened a museum in Old Christ Church.
