Below is a chain of emails between myself and the editor of Gulf1.com. In the last email that I sent, I copied several people that use Gulf1.com to distribute their information or advertisements (Seville Quarter, Theresa Friday, Congressman Miller). When Mike West responded, he did not copy that same group of people, as he had done previously.

I am of the opinion that the BEST way to impact a negative organization is to remove their relevance in society. If any of you have experienced similar problems with Gulf1.com, I would encourage you to write the sponsors, advertisers, and public officials who use Gulf1.com to disseminate their information and advertisements, and explain to them that the messenger they are using is having a negative impact on their message.

Dear Scottie,

You must have inserted your "Exlax" suppository because you sure are running off at the key board.

Your spent much more time typing your long and wordy soliloquy than it would to simply click on the "working" automatic removal link we provided. If you have nothing better to do, and wish to waste your time, that is your business. If you think we are going to waste our time with your foolishness, you might try thinking again.

Take your medication when your adult supervisor gives it to you and you will feel better shortly,

Mr. Mike West (aka M. Sidney Wallace),

I certainly appreciate your response. It definitely clarifies what caliber of individual you are. Also, thank you ever so much for copying all of the people that you did. I am sure they will be enlightened regarding your character.

Ms. Friday, Mr. Williams, Mr. Mitchell, and Congressman Miller,

I would like you to be apprised of this issue. As a consumer and a constituent, I choose to receive my information from sources OTHER than unsolicited email. After submitting several different requests to have my email address removed from the Gulf1.com system, I was still receiving emails from that organization. I assure you that I am technologically proficient, despite what the emails below insinuate, so I felt that there was a problem with the unsubscribe feature of the web site or that there was a master email list that I had not been removed from. I reached out to the webmaster on July 14th and asked that my email address be removed permanently from their system. After a few curt replies from the webmaster, I was informed that there seem to be several different email lists hosted by Gulf1.com that are used to send emails out on behalf of you and/or your companies. I was told to perform the "remove email" process on each email, and I would be removed from the lists. I did so, and the emails stopped until today, when I received yet another email from Gulf1.com's system. I then sent my first email below to both the webmaster and editor of Gulf1.com expressing my frustration and requesting again that I be permanently removed from all email lists. I also copied several of the individuals that were listed on the web site to let them know that the apparent disregard for my request was having a negative impact on my opinion of the web site and anyone associated with it. After doing so, I received a reply from the editor of Gulf1.com, which I have included in this email chain. I do not believe that I have given any reason for the editor to attack me personally or to question my mental capacity. I now understand what kind of individual I am dealing with at Gulf1.com. I am writing each of you to voice my concern about Gulf1.com and the way that I have been treated so you can have a first-hand account of how that organization is treating the very people that you are trying to court as customers, provide information to as neighbors, and earn votes from. I feel very strongly that sometimes the voice behind a message is as strong if not stronger than the message itself, and you can see from the email sent to me below what voice this particular messenger is using. I am not alone in my frustration about Gulf1.com's practices. A simple internet search for the editors name or Gulf1.com will yield several other people who have had a similar negative experience with this organization. I sincerely hope that you appreciate the negative impact that this organization is having on many members of your target audience, and I would implore you to find another way to reach your audience an stop supporting Mr. West's web site.

Regards...

Brent Scott

Dear Brent Scott,

If you do not wish to receive an Email from Congressman Jeff Miller that is your choice.

Each mail out contains a link to a "working" fully automatic removal link. However if you are too lazy, or too stupid to use it, we cannot help you.

We provide a "working" automatic removal link that has been tested in a public school 3rd grade class. Each and every one of the 10 year old children were able to use this automatic removal system with no problem. Simply use the "working" automatic removal link or burry your head in the sand and cry for someone to change your diaper. I don't really care.

For all the copies to this Email reply I wish to express my most sincere sympathy for his cluttering up your mail box with this "lazy" individuals complaints.

M. Sidney Wallace Editor, Gulf1 msw@gulf1.com

Subject: 4th Unsolicited Email (SPAM) Complaint

Dear Gulf1.com staff,

Attached is a copy of several emails that I exchanged with your organization mid-July. I requested at that time to have my email address removed from the ENTIRE Gulf1.com system, since I had unsubscribed from the system several times, yet I kept receiving unsolicited emails. Now, again today, I have received another unsolicited email. As you can see from the tone taken from the previous responder, the response to my request to have my email addresses removed from the ENTIRE Gulf1.com system was less than proactive. I was told that each list was independent of others and that I have to keep unsubscribing to the lists to not receive any more emails. I followed those directions, yet here again, my email address has made it back onto one or more of the Gulf1.com mailing lists. So... here is my 4th request...

Please COMPLETELY and PERMANENTLY remove my email address from ALL of your mailing lists!!!

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,

I have CC'ed all of you because you are affiliated, either by choice or otherwise, with Gulf1.com. Many others are as well, but the only way to send a message to them is to fill out a form, which I am CERTAIN will add me to even more spam lists. I hope that all of you will understand that I have made every reasonable effort to stop receiving emails from this organization, and they have yet to honor my request. I am hoping that most if not all of you will agree that it is irresponsible for this organization to continue to disregard my requests to be removed from their SPAM list. I am sure that all of you, like I, are much too busy to be bothered with this type of issue. HOWEVER, every time I get an email from this organization, and every time I try to remove my email address from their system, their web site shows YOUR NAMES as affiliates. If you agree with the rationality of my request, PLEASE encourage the staff of Gulf1.com to honor the requests of the public that do not want to continue to receive unsolicited and unwanted emails to have their email addresses removed COMPLETELY and PERMANENTLY. Thank you very much for your time.

Regards,

Brent Scott
