The Saenger Drive-Inn was a drive-in movie theater owned by the Saenger Amusement Company that opened on Mobile Highway in 1941.[1] Operation of the theater was halted in 1943 due to a "ban on pleasure driving in that vicinity," but the ban was lifted "to a certain extent" shortly thereafter.[2] A few months later the theater's equipment was damaged by lightning.[3]
