  • 1821 – A farewell party is given in honor of outgoing territorial governor Andrew Jackson and his wife Rachel at Austin's Tavern.
  • 1971 - St Anne's Roundup outdrew Walt Disney World in weekend attendees, 50,000 to 30,000.
  • 1997 - Rock band ZZ Top performs at the civic center.
  • 1998 - Musicians Davy Jones and The Monkees performed at the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk.
  • 2015 - Dogs on Deployment hosted a poker run, silent auction, and concert by The Southern Fried Band, which was held at Hopjack's Pizza and Tap Room on 9 Mile Rd.
  • 2016 - Television premier of Timeless, starring Abigail Spencer, airs at 9 pm on NBC's Channel 15.
