- 1818 – President James Monroe meets with his Cabinet to decide what to do about Andrew Jackson's recent capture of Spanish Pensacola.
- 1905 – Several hundred Pensacolians make an excursion to New Orleans, where they likely contracted the yellow fever virus that led to a small epidemic upon their return.[1]
- 2002 – John Cavanaugh succeeds Morris Marx as president of the University of West Florida.
