Prise de Pensacola (Capture of Pensacola). Engraving by Nicolas Ponce, published in Paris in 1785.

Notes from source: "Field Marshall Bernardo de Gálvez, governor of Louisiana, led a flotilla of warships into the harbor at Pensacola and laid seige to the town on March 9, 1781. On May 8, Spanish artillery fire expoded a powder magazine in Fort George. The British surrendered on May 10, 1781. Issued to commemorate the French military role in the American Revolution, this collection was one of the first few contemporary publications to illustrate scenes from that conflict."
