  • 1862 – Colonel Edward A. Perry of the Confederate 2nd Florida Infantry Regiment is promoted to brigadier general.
  • 1989 - Former Temptations singer Eddie Kendricks visits 2001 Disco and Ambassador Club.
  • 2007 – The Escambia County School Board votes 4-1 to reject about $2.5 million of state money for teacher bonuses, hoping to find a solution that will better reward teachers based on merit.
