WASPO (an acronym for "We Are Seriously Pissed Off") is an anti immigration group founded in 2006 by right-wing WCOA talk show host Luke McCoy. According to McCoy, the group arose from frustrations over the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States who "seem to be destroying what I have always known as America."[1] The group also has a generally right-wing homophobic stance towards gay rights and other issues.
McCoy intends for WASPO to grow nationwide and invites members of other communities to form their own chapter, called a "nest." Similarly, the group's meetings are called "swarms."
The similarity of the organization's name to the acronym "WASP" (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) has drawn accusations of a racist or nativist agenda and attracted the attention of various watchdog groups.[2].
