Davis attended Gulf Breeze High School where he served as editor of the high school paper, Blue and Gold as well as received the honors of Hall of Fame and was involved in forensics speech and debate, mock trail, French Club and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

On September 16, 2004, [[Hurricane Ivan]] devastated Davis’ home and current place of employment, forcing Davis to temporarily relocate from [[Pensacola Beach]] where he had resided for the previous three years. He was forced to cease his current studies at UWF and began working as product manager for MicroMasters, a local high-end micro-brewed beer distribution company.

| − | In the summer of 2005, just two months after [[Hurricane Dennis]] ravaged Davis’ home on Pensacola Beach, he took a position as editor for Gulf Breeze News, a community newspaper that replaced the local publication The Sentinel. He became active in several organizations including Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce Gulf Breeze Emerging Leaders, Pensacola Beach Optimist Club, Board of Directors for both the [[Arts Council of Northwest Florida]] and [[Belmont Arts and Cultural Canter]] in addition to American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. He was formally trained to be an assistant to the Public Information Officer at the Emergency Operations Center of Santa Rosa County. He was also involved in other disaster-related organizations including the Hurricane Presponse Task Force and Interfaith Disaster Resources where he spearheaded an initiative to register area seniors so they would be adequately cared for in the event of a disaster. He was featured in the “Last Word” portion of the Independent News in October of 2005, received Pensacola Beach Optimist “Rookie of the Year’ in 2005 and was nominated for Gulf Breeze Emerging Leader of the Year.
