Theo Dunwody Baars, Jr. was a Pensacola businessman, the founder of Baars Realty, and a member of the prominent Baars family.

Early life

Theo was born January 31, 1921 to Mary Firestone and Theo Dunwody Baars at Cordova, the Baars family home built by his grandfather, Henry Baars. Theo graduated from Pensacola High School and attended Kenyon College in Ohio, Auburn University in Alabama, Tulane University in Louisiana, and William Jewell College in Missouri.

Business career

After serving in the Navy during World War II, Theo founded Baars Realty in 1946.

Baars was involved in numerous community organizations, including the Pensacola Association of Realtors, of which he was past president, the Board of Directors of the Naval Aviation Museum, Junior Achievement, the Washington High School Parents Advisory Committee, Paul Harris Fellow International Rotarians, Pensacola Little Theatre, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
