::Well, that's probably just the designer in me — i.e. the song title is short enough that it won't knock everything else into multiple rows. :) Also I figured songs are more representative of the zeitgeist than mottos, which are virtually interchangeable from decade to decade, and one article I found in the PNJ archives had a song but no motto. — admin • talk 16:44, 29 June 2009 (CDT) | ::Well, that's probably just the designer in me — i.e. the song title is short enough that it won't knock everything else into multiple rows. :) Also I figured songs are more representative of the zeitgeist than mottos, which are virtually interchangeable from decade to decade, and one article I found in the PNJ archives had a song but no motto. — admin • talk 16:44, 29 June 2009 (CDT) | ||
:::I don't know. I personally think, as a current high school student, that a class song really isn't important to the overall scheme of things, but that's just me. We can see what others think. Also, regarding Javarius Powell, I'm at the UWF Library right now and just found the microfilm of the PNJ article you were talking about (I'm presuming it is the same article). I know Javarius Powell gave a speech at 2008 graduation, and only the regular valedictorian and IB valedictorian give speeches. I'll check my program again at home, as it's possible that the PNJ could have been written and then a last minute change have occurred in GPAs between Kerstin Lashay Fleming and Javarius. Also, are the 2001 salutatorian spots blank because they weren't readily available? I might be able to find a PNJ microfilm while I'm here if you have an idea as to the approximate date of graduation (probably earlier than it is nowadays).
