- 1779 – Revolutionary War: Hoping to regain its Florida colonies, Spain joins the fledgling United States of America by declaring war against England.
- 1834 – Antebellum period: Construction of the stagecoach road between Tallahassee and Pensacola is delayed.
- 1845 – Jonathan Walker is released from jail.
- 2002 – Soccer complex corruption scandal: Indicted Escambia County Commissioner W. D. Childers is charged with additional counts of money laundering and bribery.
- 2007 – The Santa Rosa Island Authority renames a quarter-mile segment of Via de Luna after the late Allen Levin.
