H. K. Matthews Park, formerly Esperanza Square, is a 2.47-acre square/city park located in northern East Hill, at the northeast corner of 12th Avenue and Hayes Street. The park contains a basketball court, playground equipment, benches, and water fountains.

The park was renamed in honour of local civil rights activist H. K. Matthews in February 2006.
