The DeLuna Treasure Hunt is a part of the annual Fiesta of Five Flags celebration where participants follow a series of clues to find "DeLuna's treasure." The event is currently sponsored by WEAR and West Florida Healthcare.

According to the official website:

History tells us that after being ravaged by a hurricane, Don Tristan DeLuna departed Pensacola, but only after leaving behind many treasures, now hidden for hundreds of years. Each year, the Fiesta of Five Flags uncovers a series of historical references to the whereabouts of DeLuna's treasure and offers these clues to the public to find these old and new and very valuable items.

This historically based treasure hunt is one of the most popular Fiesta events for individuals, school groups, and families.

  • Grand Prize: $2,000 cash and a 14K gold necklace with Spanish Reale from Jewelers Trade Shop
  • Second Place: $700 cash
  • Third Place: $300 cash

Drawing for 2nd and 3rd place prizes are awarded from completed maps mailed into the Fiesta office.

In addition to the competitive historically based treasure hunt, there is a "Fiesta Fun Hunt" based on a second set of clues on the map. The prize for the winner of the Fun Hunt is $350 cash.

Maps are free and are available at all primary care locations of West Florida Healthcare. To play, you must have an official WEAR and West Florida Healthcare DeLuna Treasure Hunt map and follow all instructions.

New treasure clues are announced on WEAR ABC 3 at 5 p.m. and repeated on local radio stations, the WEAR and Five Flags websites, and at pnj.com.
