South of 36th Street, Davis Highway diverges to become two one-way routes:  the southbound is [[Dr. Martin Luther King Drive]] and later [[Alcaniz Street]], while the northbound from [[Wright Street]] downtown until 36th Street is signed North [[Davis Street]].

Between [[Fairfield Drive]] and [[University Parkway]], Davis is one of the city's major commercial strips. Near its intersection with [[Interstate 10]] lies [[University Mall]].
