'''Baptist Hospital''' is a 492-bed tertiary care hospital located at 1000 West [[Moreno Street]] at [[E Street]]. It is the largest facility in the [[Baptist Health Care]] network. Baptist Hospital provides a full range of medical, surgical and obstetrical services. Specialized critical care is provided by the hospital's emergency center and three intensive care units: coronary, surgical and neurological intensive care.

The [[BaptistFlight]] helicopter ambulance is an extension of emergency services, allowing the stabilization and rapid transport of seriously ill or injured patients. The [[Cancer Institute of Baptist Hospital]] specializes in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and support. It also has a strong prevention and early detection component. The Cancer Program is affiliated with several research groups, allowing Baptist Hospital patients to participate in clinical trials.

The Baptist Health Care Behavioral Services provide both hospitalization and outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents. The [[Behavioral Medicine Center]] offers intensive and acute psychiatric treatment for inpatients.

[[Lakeview Center]] provides counseling for stresses of modern living, psychiatric treatment, and substance abuse treatment. Additional services include individual, group, and family counseling; community support; assistance and employee assistance services/programs.

Other Baptist Hospital programs include the Health Management Services, Women's Services, GoldenCare, the Sleep Disorders Center, the Bariatric Center, the Pre and Post Procedure Unit, the SurgiCare outpatient surgery center, and HealthSource, a free physician referral service.

Baptist Hospital is equipped with state of the art laboratory, pathology and radiology facilities. Services continually are expanded to include new and updated technologies such as computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT), digital fluoroscopy and digital subtraction angiography. The hospital also has cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs as well as an electrodiagnostics department for non-invasive diagnostic testing such as EKG and ultrasound.

Baptist Hospital is the closest hospital to Pensacola's urban core, and as such it provides millions of dollars in charity care to indigent patients each year. Baptist has attempted to [[Baptist Health Care expansion#Background|transfer some of its licensed acute care beds]] (which average only about 50 percent occupancy) to satellite facilities in more affluent areas, but the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration has repeatedly denied Baptist's Certificate of Need requests, and attempts to receive special legislative exemption have been foiled on several occasions.
