The A.M. DeVaughn School was an elementary school located at 401 East Chase Street. Prior to being given a name (Escambia County's segregated black schools were originally given only numbers), the school was referred to as Public School No. 104.[1]

A.M. DeVaughn, the school's namesake, previously served as the school's principal before it was named for him.
