'''Jere's Lounge''' had previously been a hair salon which was owned by cosmetologist Jere Hobbs and located on the west side of the 6400 block of 9th Avenue. In the early 1970s, part of the building operated under the name Brothers and Sisters, and later as The Stone Toad. By the mid-1970s and until the early 1980s, it advertised both topless dancers and a country music band featuring Terry Thomas as house entertainer.
